I live in Nambour in the Sunshine Coast hinterland.
Event: -
Time for a laugh - comedy fun
Yep, he's definitely nuts, all right.

Nambour's Lind Lane Theatre aims to provide a great balance of productions throughout the year, with comedies, dramas and classics. Like other Lind regulars, I really enjoyed the blend of humour and pathos in their previous offering, The Lady in the Van, based on a true story.

Barbara's got a problem to solve here.

Next up the Lind is presenting a riotous comedy, My Husband's Nuts! This promises to provide a fun evening or afternoon's entertainment.

Barbara Fitzgerald knows her husband Jack is nuts. The obvious thing to do would be to get her husband to a doctor but he won't go out and the town doctor has the name "Nosey Parker". Word would get out around the town and Jack's reputation would be shattered. There is no way Barbara will allow that to happen.

Jo agrees these are the best muffins

Worse still, she is up to her neck making 500 muffins (three different flavours too!) for the Agricultural Show and she's not going to let people down. Her reputation will be enhanced if she gets those muffins done! She is the Muffin Ma'am, which is a nice reference to the old rhyme The Muffin Man.

The women discuss their dilemma

Meanwhile, Jo Robinson is new to the area. She's the new vet, and to win over the locals she needs to get on side with influential farmer Jack Fitzgerald. That's right, he's the one who's nuts! He has become convinced that he's one of the last surviving Japanese soldiers holding out against the Americans on a remote island in the Philippines during World War II. Plus, he's developed a bad case of Agri-phobia - the fear of agriculture!

Barbara reckons a vet is pretty close to a doctor, so with the help of her brother Terry (a vegetarian regarded locally as the village idiot), her daughter Charlie, and Jo, they frantically try to get Jack to come to his senses in time for the Show.

Terry and Charlie discuss the situation

I've chosen this well-loved tale that will keep the audience entertained and guessing with the plot twisting and turning along the way, says Director Britt Love. My cast are working hard to bring you this energetic and fast-paced comedy!

Will Jack come to his senses in time?

The cast includes Taylor Rost as Charlie Fitzgerald, Chris Perkins as Barbara Fitzgerald, Susie Bushnell as Jo Robinson, Alex Meloni as Jack Fitzgerald, and Josh Wilson as Terry McCloud.

The well-stocked foyer bar will be open, serving a wide range of hot and cold drinks and snacks.
