What is unique about My Coffee Spot? While making a mad dash to find window blinds to replace those damaged during the weekend storm, the last thing I expected to stumble across was a café. But that's what I found when visiting my local Spotlight store at Everton Park. My Coffee Spot is a family owned café cart-cum-espresso bar located at the entrance to this major homewares store.
What will I find to eat?
On entering the space, the sandwich board on the kerb tells me that My Coffee Spot stock cold drinks, ice creams, cakes and sweets, savoury muffins, assorted sandwiches and hot food. The traditional ice-cream fridge (the ones with the sliding doors) allows customers to select their own favourite ice treat including the new Red Velvet Magnums or the much-loved Paddle Pops which are sure to entice the kids. My Coffee Spot makes the most of a small corner space with indoor and outdoor seating. Red is a dominant colour with outdoor styled chairs and red tablecloths and plants shaded by bold Merlo umbrellas.
For my caffeine fix, I was pleased to find that My Coffee Spot serves Merlo coffee. Prices are very competitive with a small setting you back $3.50, a medium at $4.00 and a large being $5.20. For a do it at home option, a 500g bag of ground beans is $19.00 and a 1kg bag of beans is $35.00.
My Coffee Spot can take advantage of the extensive and dedicated car parking of the homewares centre, so access (including disability car spaces and ramped footpaths) is pretty easy. It is also open 7 days a week. My Coffee Space is small, but it offers an alternative to the weekend sausage sizzle when you're needing to grab a bite to eat after a busy day of shopping.
