For her first and only visit to Darwin this year,
Cruise and Maritime Voyages (CMV) MV Columbus will dock at Darwin's Fort Hill Wharf East Berth, at 7.30 am on Sunday 4 March 2018.
Columbus was first launched in 1988 as FairMajesty, later becoming Star Princess, Ocean Village and Pacific Pearl. In 2017, Columbus became part of the CMV fleet, was refurbished and once again renamed.
Currently on her inaugural 71 night World Cruise, Columbus comes to Darwin at the very beginning of her journey having embarked from Sydney and via Yorkey's Knob. On departure from Darwin at 6 pm, she will travel onwards to Indonesia, Philippines, China, Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, India, Middle East and the Mediterranean before arriving at her final port of Gilbraltar, United Kingdom.
At 247 metres in length and boasting 11 passenger decks, Columbus has 36 suites, 28 deluxe balcony rooms and 150 single cabins. Considered a medium size cruise ship, Columbus has a spectacular reputation on the British cruise market and offers mini-cruises right up to once-in-a-lifetime world cruises. Columbus carries up to 1,856 passengers and 700 crew.
Following an extensive refurbishment in 2015, guests can choose
accommodation ranging from standard to superior, premium, superior plus, deluxe balcony and junior balcony, inner and ocean view.
Dining on Columbus gives guests a choice from included options or speciality dining including Fusion, The Grill or Chef's Table. Carefully constructed menus blend traditional cuisine and international specialities and include a full English breakfast, leisurely lunch and sumptuous five-course dinners.
There are
seven lounges and bars for guests to choose from including the Captain's Club and Casino, Connexions, Raffles and Taverners Pub. Two coffee shops and two deck bars means there are plenty of quiet corners to relax in or guests can get amongst the crowd for more lively entertainment.
Entertainment includes arts and craft, comedy, guest speakers and the Show Lounge featuring specialty acts and guest entertainers. During those long days at sea choose from the gym, beauty salon or pool or join in with deck games or a quiz.
Forget washing your smalls out in the bathroom sink, Columbus offers an onboard self-service guest laundry where you can wash your clothes for a small cost.
The event is free and child-friendly and a great opportunity to bring the little ones along to see the big ships.
All times given are subject to change. This is a viewing event only, no access is available onboard.
