Big and good concerts are coming, in the middle of autumn. In Sydney's tradition as an important host for good musicians all over the world (as the last year proved it), very different, interesting musicians will be (and already are) in Australia.
This article is meant to be a guide for your musical needs, something new, and something unexpected: delight yourself with new/old and re-born sounds of these artists. Music should be, as the other important parts of your life, an aspect to develop, to grow, to project and to refine as you became older and more selective. Give your mind and your body a taste of what good musicians can offer.
Fortunate for the Sydneysiders, (and the international population that the city always have) in May the city will welcome 3 of the most important and dissimilar musicians worldwide: I am talking about Prince, Digitalism and Steve Reich.
My invitation (and proposal) is simple, what kind of a person are you? What are you looking for? Read the descriptions and make a choice. I will be there with you, comment!
Prince: The legendary artist is all about people who want to dance, to see great musicians and to enjoy a concert where everything (music-wise) can happen. This is a concert that will shock long-life fans and new listeners. Being close to thirty years in the scene, and with more than a thousand songs recorded, "The artist formerly know as Prince" is a combination of funk, soul, hard rock, choral music and show music. With Prince, it is never a boring gig. New ideas and new sounds are always welcome with this artist and his musicians. If you go, you would have to be open-minded and vibrate with the rest of the crowd.

Digitalism: A Pure Techno party, the German Sound meets the French sound, and adds touches of indietronica and punk-electronic body music (EBM). This German duo is all about pumping the vibe. Get your feet dancing. Digitalism is, nowadays, one of the most important duos in the electronica scene. If you want to dance all night and get high with the remixes and adaptations of Daft Punk, Crookers and others that Digitalism has to offer, this is your place. A place to hallucinate with waves, synths and 8 bit sounds.
Steve Reich: The godfather of Minimalism, Reich is one of the most important living composers. His music has influenced maybe more musicians than you can count. Simple phrases and patterns are played repeatedly, changing in a fast pace and intermingling with each other, creating hypnotic yet beautiful music. A must for music enthusiasts. This is a concert like no other you have experienced in your life. Be prepared to enjoy music for the senses and for the soul. A more grown up concert than Prince or Digitalism.
