Ho, ho, ho, Santa will soon be making his way to the 'sunny' Sunshine Coast and with his anticipated arrival comes a flurry of fabulous Christmas festivities for the whole family to enjoy. Grab your social calendars, highlight your favourites' dates and get ready to part…ay! For ease of reference, festivities are listed in alphabetical order.

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!
Meet Santa and Mrs Clause at Aussie World's most popular event of the year, the Christmas Spectacular . Come face to face with Christmas characters, mingle with the roving entertainers and dancers, get to meet the Aussie Kids and sit back to enjoy the fabulous Christmas shows.

There will be rides galore like flying with Santa's reindeer on the SX360 and Dingo Racer or take a spin amongst the stars in Aussie World's beautiful Ballroom Blitz - there is a heap load of Christmas fun for the whole family.

For the littlies in the family, Aussie World are hosting the Tiny Tots Christmas Special, a three hour play date with rides, snow, roaming characters, Santa photos, face painting and even snow on the 22 December. It's a Buderim Family Tradition - come along and have a great time!
The Buderim Community Carols evening is a great big community singalong, where you bring a picnic blanket, the family and meet up with friends and neighbours in a traditional night of carolling. Candles have been replaced with the safer option of glow sticks and toys, which may be purchased on the night.

In the event of rain, the Community Carols will move to the Buderim Community Hall across the road.

Why wait to the end of December to celebrate the festive season, when the Caloundra Christmas Street Party is promising to be the market of the year for 2022. From Santa meet-and-greets, to roving acrobatics, to the annual Christmas tree lighting, live music and carols, face painting, an interactive snow globe with snow, families will enjoy browsing the length of Bulcock Street, showcasing well-loved food trucks and artesian stalls, plus a few extra special surprises.

Get ready for a day filled with Christmas joy at this year's Christmas at Empower , with two live carol shows together with a festival in between. Visitors will enjoy carol singing, festival food, kids' play zones, inflatables, face painting, Santa, and so much more.

Carol shows from 10am and 6pm; festival from 4:30pm
This is a free community event, perfect for families with plenty of activities to cater for every age group. Food and drinks are available for purchase throughout the day, including during the festival.

It's Time to Celebrate … Christmas at Lifepointe!

Christmas at Lifepointe is the biggest not-to-be-missed Christmas event on the Sunshine Coast with approximately 30,000 people visiting the event to celebrate Christmas as a community.

Every night from Wednesday 14 December to Thursday 22 December from 5:30pm to 9:00pm, Lifepointe Church will open their doors to the community to celebrate Christmas.
2022 is the 19th year since Christmas at Lifepointe began, with the aim each year to spread a message of hope, joy and the true meaning of Christmas to the Sunshine Coast community.

Everyone is welcome to come along to be a part of the free event and enjoy a range of family friendly activities.

This year Alexandra Headland Community Association celebrate the 11th year of Christmas in Alex and invite everyone to join in on their 2022 festivities.

Make an afternoon into evening great with live music from Hayden Hack; a Christmas Choir plus the Olivia Ruth Band. For the littlies kids rides, face painting, an appearance from Santa plus a fabulous fireworks finale.

Bring a picnic dinner from one of the local cafes/restaurants or grab a BBQ sausage from the Rotary Club of Alexandra Headland or for a real spoil, on-site fairy floss and potato swirls will be available.

Christmas is coming to the streets of Cooroy with stalls and entertainment lining the streets and shops staying open, offering festive Christmas wares. There will be plenty of entertainment on offer for everyone plus delectable Christmas treats too. There may even be a visit from the jolly ol' guy in red ….

The Cooroy Butter Factory Arts Centre's Christmas Markets will be running simultaneously with Christmas in Cooroy from 4.00pm to 8.00pm.

To support Coolum Carols and cover all the entertainment, the organisers are requesting a small fee (donation) of $5 per person or $15 per family - this will cover all the entertainment costs - no more putting hands in pockets every time the kids want to go on the jumping castle! Make sure to get to Maple Street early as the Maleny Handmade and Artisan Markets at the Community Hall are held in conjunction with the Maleny Late Night Christmas event and start slightly earlier at 3pm. These must-do markets give Maleny locals a place to showcase their handmade creations, their creative hobbies and to share their talents. Discerning shoppers are assured of finding something totally different, totally discerning and always made with love.

The longest running Carols event on the coast, Peregian Beach Christmas Carols is now in its 58th year - can you believe it! For 2022 the Peregian Family & Friends, Peregian Beach Business Association & Peregian Beach Surf Life Saving Club are all getting together to produce a fabulous Carols event for the whole community in Peregian Park.

Families will get to enjoy -
To support this amazing community event, Peregian Beach Christmas Carol visitors are being asked for a $15 per family contribution to the event , which covers ALL the entertainment - music, rides, face-painting and the main attraction Santa! All entertainment and treats for the kids are included! Sounds like a win-win to me!
