Round up your nearest and dearest to attend the 10th annual
Music to Open Your Mind music festival, held on
Sunday 20th March 2016 from
12pm to 4pm at
Kings Square in Fremantle, next to the Town Hall.
Held annually since its inception in 2006, this free community family music concert and market day attracts over 2000 people every year. Hit two birds with one stone with your attendance - enjoy a free family fun day together whilst supporting a festival that aims to raise and promote public awareness about mental health, celebrate the work of mental health services and organisations, support families, friends and carers of people with mental health problems and reduce the stigma surrounding it in society.
The festival atmosphere is a fun, creative and family-friendly environment where visitors are able to enjoy a whole day of market and food stalls as well as live entertainment and music. Bands and artists who will feature on the day include local musician Andrew Winton, Electrik Co Trio, Perth teen singer Ella E, world music band Mambo Chic, percussion drumming and dance group Wasamba and St Patrick's Starlight Hotel Choir.
In addition, children will be entertained with free children's activities such as painting, craft, face painting, balloon twisting and a climbing wall. Music to Open Your Mind is also supported by over 30 mental health service providers who provide support and information about mental health issues and services at the festival.
For further information on this unique community concert, visit the event website and follow the Music to Open Your Mind Facebook page for the latest updates to this festival.
