Experience the intriguing and mystical wonders of ancient Egypt in a one-of-a-kind world premiere concert presented by Perth-based, Vienna-trained composer-violinist Rupert Guenther, taking place at the
Treasures Gallery, Hackett Hall inside WA Museum Boola Bardip in Perth on
Saturday 29th July 2023 from 5pm to 6:15pm.
The concert promises an evocative and immersive experience as it takes the audience on a captivating musical journey traversing thousands of years into the world of ancient Egypt and its associated rituals and symbols that transcended through time into modern-day culture. It moves through evolving cultures and the innate desire of humankind to search for wellbeing in the present and "afterlife".
The concert takes inspiration from the special exhibition,
Discovering Ancient Egypt currently running at the museum until 8th October. On loan from the national museum Rijksmuseum in the Netherlands, the exhibition features a collection of treasured and timeless Egyptian artefacts and antiques that capture the rich, sacred and complex history of Egypt.
