Music by the River is the perfect way to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon this Autumn.

Proudly presented by the Penrith City Council, Music by the River is part of the "By the River" series of events held along the Nepean River. It will be held at Tench Reserve on Sunday 26th March 11am - 4pm.

Music by the River is FREE to attend and showcases a fantastic line-up of talent musicians and groups. All are welcome to enjoy the performances. Come along with your friends and family and bring a picnic blanket. There will also be a delicious array of cuisine on offer from food stalls.

The entertainment line-up includes:

  • Hannah Beeby Hannah is a local high school student who studies music at the Penrith Conservatorium of Music. She is a committed member of the Western Sydney PULSE Vocal Ensemble and a variety of school ensembles including the school ukulele group. She has worked with the Blue Mountains Musical Society and has participated in various musicals locally and at school. She is a passionate artist who thoroughly enjoys performing and participating in musical events.

  • Deers from Embers - With a mix of captivating melodies and haunting female vocals, Deers from Embers' original songs are reminiscent of ghost and campfire stories from years gone by.

  • Yianna Nicholas iA young singer-songwriter from the foot of the mountains. A very creative and energetic musician beyond her youth. Her songs are believable, fresh, soulful and inspiring. In 2016, Yianna was invited by the team at Nordoff Robbins Music Therapy to perform at the 'Sing it Sydney' World Voice Day Concerts.

  • Jarrah Ferris - Smith - Jarrah is a 19 year old musician who has been writing his own music since he was 11. Over the past 8 years, his techniques and styles have evolved into a well-rounded singer-songwriter who also covers many great artists. Jarrah and his guitar form a partnership that should never be broken. Smooth vocals and universal topics are a common theme throughout his many tunes and an ear for detail is obvious with his creations.

  • Kristian Jackson When phrases like, "Powderfinger meets David Gray", and, "Crowded House on steroids!" are thrown around to describe your work, you know you're in good company. According to Kristian, these comparisons tell him two things; he writes great melodies, and he's not afraid to rock. Don't let those descriptions fool you though, Kristian is an extremely versatile songwriter and performer and is adept at weaving elements of blues and jazz throughout his "pop/rock" compositions.

  • Emily Anderson - Emily is 14 years old and lives in Luddenham. From a young age, Emily has always participated in eisteddfods, choirs and dance concerts. She is always eager to participate in community events such as Christmas carols, Talents Quests and in recent years participated in Council's Junior Mayor Program.

  • Harmony School of Music - It's no secret that the music industry has drastically changed over the past decades. Responding to a need for artist development and "New Music Industry" education in the local area, Penrith artists Nicki Gillis and Kristian Jackson have founded The M.A.D Factory. As an extension program of Harmony School of Music, The M.A.D Factory's exists to develop local performing and recording artists through contemporary ensembles, songwriter mentoring and career development, focussing on successful pathways in the new music industry.

Music by the River is FREE to attend. RSVP today on the Facebook Event.
