Heads up Coasties, a fun day of music is coming to
Henry Kendall Cottage on the 9th of March for an afternoon of
Music at the Cottage for five hours from 11am until 4pm.
Not only will you get to explore the cottage and grounds associated with poet, Henry Kendall, you will be treated to a showcase afternoon featuring a wide variety of music styles, such as:
• Folk
• Irish
• Blues
Two members of the cottage and Brisbane Water Historical Society known as Braided Empire will also be performing. You will also be treated to a performance from The Troubadour Club, who are a well-known folk music society on the Peninsula of the Central Coast. There are costs involved in attending the festival, and they are:
$10 adults
$20 for a family of 2 adults and 2 children
$7 for children and concession holders.
You are welcome to bring a picnic lunch to have under the trees or partake of the reasonably priced sausage sizzle that will be held by the Brisbane Water Historical Society.
Henry Kendall Cottage is one of the highlights of Central Coast history, showcasing some of our local history linked to a well-known poet,
Henry Kendall who wrote poems such as Bellbirds. So come and immerse yourself in music, history, culture and fun at a local highlight that is sure to delight.
Regular hours for the cottage are:
Wednesday: 10am – 2.30pm
Saturday: 10am – 2.30pm
Sunday: 10am – 2.30pm
Public Holidays: 10am – 2.30pm (Closed Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Good Friday)
Closed from 24th January to the 1st of December.
The cottage grounds are open to the public daily 10am until 4pm, but the cottage is only open for the times listed above. So come and explore the grounds and get a taste of what is on offer before you make your trip to the museum.
