Don't pay to listen to music when it is fREE here
Music at Murdoch will be returning for 2019 and it will be on Saturday 16th February 2019, from 5.00 pm to 9.15 pm. It will be a FREE community event situated at the Murdoch South Street Campus. It is not very often that we get to go to a free concert with names that are both well known and popular, so this is your chance!
The music will once again enable you to have an incredible evening of music and dancing under the stars.
This free concert is now in its third year and there will also be food and entertainment at the event. It will be set amongst the eucalyptus trees at the Bush Court at Murdoch University at South Street, Bentley.
This year, Aria Award winner and winner of the X-Factor Series 4, Samantha Jade and her band will be headlining the concert. Samantha was raised in Perth and is sure to give a brilliant performance at this event.
Samantha has stated that she was excited to be performing in front of a home crowd at the Music at Murdoch event. She said "I just love coming back to Perth. I think it is wonderful Murdoch University and the City of Melville are putting on this free community concert."
Samantha went on to say she was proud to be a part of this event and was looking forward to performing with other local acts for the community. There will be support acts from Ben Merito and his band, Kiara Eve and the One Big Voice school group.
If you want an enjoyable family night out or just a night out with friends, this is the perfect place to go. You can buy your dinner from one of the food vans and watch the entertainment while the children have several activities.
The gates will open at 4.30 pm, and the first live performance will commence at 5.00 pm. There will be no reserved seating this year so it would be a good idea to get there early to pick your favourite picnic spot.
You can have a drink from the licensed bar cart set up on Bush Court during the evening or you can bring your own alcohol to the event as well as buying.
The children will have a variety of things to do from face painting to circus acts.
This concert is presented by Murdoch University and the City of Melville. There will be free parking available on the night, however, organisers encourage you to utilise public transport options, especially if you plan on having a few drinks.
There is no need to buy tickets for the event, just turn up and find your spot! The event will go ahead regardless of the weather apart from such emergencies like an electric storm or severe lightning.
