A free evening of entertainment, food and dress-up
Music at Murdoch is on again after the successful event last year, and this will be an evening of music, food and entertainment.

The theme this year is "Motown" and the Perth Symphony Orchestra will be playing many favourites under the stars of a balmy night in Perth!

General admission to this event is FREE, and you can either buy a gourmet dinner from the food trucks, or you can bring your own blanket and a picnic - low backed chairs are permitted in designated areas.

Some of the foods the trucks will be serving this year are as follows:

Hungarian food
Indian street food
Wood fired pizzas
Snow cones
Ice cream
And more

There will also be a licensed bar cart, The Little Bar Cart at the event will be held on the green lawns of Murdoch University's Bush Court, in South Street, Murdoch.

In keeping with the theme of the evening, why not dress up in your 60's or 70's gear!

Accompanying the Perth Symphony Orchestra at this function will be singers Matt Allen and Odette Mercy, who will sing the classic Motown hits including Ain't no Mountain, Superstition, I Can See Clearly and All Night Long.

The supporting acts will include rhythm and blues, Afrobeat, and Bambuseae, whose eight band members are from all over the world.

Also, there will be the Australian Pop Academy, a youth organisation which started off in the UK, and they will sing rock and pop classics of yesteryear.

All these fabulous bands will have you dancing in no time, or if not, at least tapping your feet to the music.

But wait, there's more! - also performing here will be the Access Circus, featuring Murdoch Alumni Renee Pilkington.

This free concert will be held on Sunday 18th February, 2018 from 5.00 pm, and the bands will play from 7.00 pm to 9 pm.

Although this is a free concert, there are also luxury packages that you can buy and these premium tickets are $50 and include premium seating area, provided high back chair, VIP toilets and an invitation to an exclusive pre-function held on Upper Bush Court, with drinks and canapés provided by Comestibles.

If you are interested in this, you can buy your tickets at TryBooking. Free parking is available onsite however, the organisers encourage you to look into public transport options, as there are multiple bus stops in the area.

Bush Court also offers disabled access and if you need this or seating, please advise when you book your ticket.

This will be an unforgettable night of music for the whole family, with Perth Symphony Big Band and Strings accompanying special guest soloists.

The City of Melville Mayor, Russell Aubrey said that this event for all ages is a highlight in Perth's summer calendar.

He goes on to say "Music at Murdoch is a wonderful cultural event that gives our community the opportunity to come together and enjoy music in a beautiful location. I really look forward to this magical evening and encourage our residents to join me at this very special event,"

The concert is staged by Murdoch University with the help and support of the City of Melville, and concert partners AHG and Hawaiian.
