School of Practical Philosophy WA invites you to a very special presentation on Music and Mindfulness.
Held on Friday 17 May 2024 at 7 pm at Government House Ballroom, Music and Mindfulness will feature guest speaker Professor Craig Hassed OAM, plus the amazing Australian Baroque Orchestra.
Don't miss this opportunity to be a part of a dynamic audience, guided through a series of mindfulness exercises as you listen to sublime music from the Baroque period.
Melbourne-based Professor Craig Hassed is the coordinator of mindfulness programs across Monash University, the Director of Education at the Monash Centre for Consciousness and Contemplative Studies and the patron of Meditation Australia.
He is a regular media commentator and co-authored the world’s two leading mindfulness massive open online courses and appears courtesy of the School of Practical Philosophy.
In this one-off event, each piece in the program will be introduced by Dr Hassed, with a mindfulness exercise, enabling a deeper and richer experience of the music. The concert program will include
Double Violin Concerto in D minor by Bach,
Concertos for Strings and Flute by Vivaldi amongst other baroque gems.
Performers include Helen Kruger, Jane Cameron, Hannah Herriman, Teresa Vinci, Christian Read, Noeleen Wright, Libby Browning and Andy Skinner.
Tickets are priced Students $25 / Concession $40 / Standard $49.
