Mushroom Racing might seem like an unusual title for an event that equates to Go Karting but not if you're familiar with Nintendo's Mario Kart video game. The pudgy plumber Mario lived in Mushroom Kingdom with his brother Luigi and in this series of the game, players would compete in races where power-up features, like mushrooms, would provide a speed boost.
Now, a unique experience is coming to Sydney that allows you to relive the game in real life on a custom go-kart track. The fun sees you rallying around collecting stars to win prizes, whilst dressed in the costume of your favourite character.
It's already a hit in Japan and this race with a twist will take you back to those glorious days and youthful times, bringing on fond memories, minus the banana peels and garbage throwing at your opponents.
Heading to a secret location in September and running on selected Sundays through to November, tickets are $100 per person and include:-
Sessions are around 3hrs long with times from 8.30am-8.00pm. Be quick though as tickets are extremely limited and this event is selling quickly. There are only a couple of sessions left in both September and October. November has several sessions available at the moment.
Details on the meeting point and event will be sent to you a week beforehand. Ensure you check your ticket date. The event start date means the date the series starts. Your ticket is only valid for the date and time you book.
So gather your friends (must be 16yrs & over) and combine your favourite characters or go alone and meet new friends in this rally of a lifetime. Spectators are welcome but will need to make their own way to the venue.
