Bike Polo @ Musgrave Park

While strolling through Musgrave Park at South Brisbane last Sunday afternoon, I came across a boisterous game of bike polo underway on what looked like an old netball court.

There was much frenzied cycling and waving of mallets, along with the occasional raucous cheer when a goal was scored.

A sign on the fence said that games are held every Sunday from 2pm, and newbies are welcome. A quick Google when I got home found the Brisbane bike polo website, which encouraged spectators to rock along as well as new players. It could be a fun thing to add if you're already planning a Sunday visit to the park (which has a good soccer field, a decent playground for kids, and wide, smooth paths for scooters or skateboards).
