Let's go for a walk
This beautiful dog park is located on the corner of Musgrave Ave and Kumbari Ave in Southport, not far from the Sharks Event Centre. It is not only the biggest dog park on the Gold Coast (that I have found so far), but it also one of the few ones that have barbeque and toilet facilities.

Dog Park
So much fun!

This park is fully fenced and huge, which makes it perfect if your dog's recall is not that great (yet) or if you want to test how far your dog wanders without being on a leash.

The barbeque area and the ponds are dog prohibited areas but the park is large enough anyway. Just walking around in it once will take you between 10 and 30 minutes depending on the paths you choose and your walking speed.

However after it has been raining, this park becomes quite muddy so make sure you bring some towels for your furry best friend or be prepared to clean your car.

It also has an agility area with lots of hurdles and every few meters there is a tap so you can give your dog some fresh drinking water. At the entries there are dog litter tidy bags offered and there are quite a few (however not enough) bins throughout the park.

My dog absolutely loves this park. There are always plenty of friendly dogs around and she enjoys being able to run off lead while I can stay on the footpaths (when it's muddy) and I have peace of mind because it is fully fenced and I can be sure that she won't run in front of a car.

My dog hopes to meet yours there soon!
