MCA has a number of different locations around L.A. They include Grand Avenue, Geffen Contemporary, Pacific Design Centre & Double Negative

I went to the Grand Avenue MOCA, which is directly opposite The Broad Contemporary Art Gallery and a short walk from The Angels Flight. It's also a stone's throw from the Walt Disney Concert Hall, a relatively short walk to the Los Angeles Public Library and the Biltmore Hotel (think Ghostbusters movie circa 1988). There is parking nearby, but I'd be inclined to take an uber or catch a cab (have your money ready if you're catching a cab - it is LA!).

On street level, you'll see the box office to buy your tickets. The tickets are affordable - $25 for Adults, Students $8, Seniors $6, Children under 12 - free and jurors - free. Follow the stairs down to the entrance. On entering, you'll be asked to show your ticket (and there, you'll also the see the guest book and various other marketing things). To the left, there is a lovely cafe that you can sit in before or after your Art Rendezvous.

Once you get inside, you'll find yourself wandering through some larger and smaller gallery spaces. It is not an immense art museum (considering L.A's population) but it was big enough to spend a good couple of hours experiencing the art on offer. I was most impressed with the diversity of art. There were a couple of large craft installations, some short and then one full-length video, photos and even some artwork by Jackson Pollock.

You will find the MOCA shop on the ground level, up a couple of steps.
