I like to participate in life rather than be a spectator. Music, dancing, theatre, travelling, food, cycling and walking are some of my passions. Writing is an enjoyable pastime that allows me to share my experiences.
The Murrumbateman Country Inn is a great country pub in the heart of Canberra's cool climate wine area. It is a meeting point and entertainment centre for the locals and a good place for road tripping visitors to refresh and refuel at.
The bistro serves lunch from 12 to 2:30pm and dinner from 5:30pm until 8:30pm. The menu is large with all the usual pub classics, pizzas and blackboard specials. Kids' meals are $12 and some meals are suitable for vegetarians and there are gluten-free options available. The servings are generous and good value for travellers and the atmosphere is that of friendly country hospitality. The Shearing Shed Bar is open from 11am daily and has ten beers on tap, bottled beers, local wines, spirits and soft drinks.
The inn is family-friendly with seating outdoors on the verandah or inside where there is plenty to look at and wood fires in winter. There are pinball machines, pool tables and full TAB facilities. Live music is on regularly and they have meal specials and entertainment nights.
