A combination of intrigue and suspense will have you guessing until the very end of this entertaining performance of
Murder Village. Can you solve a classic whodunnit case with an eccentric British cast? As the audience, your decisions play a vital role in the outcome of this hilarious improvised staged performance.
Murder Village can be experienced at the monumental Arts House in North Melbourne, the centre for contemporary performance and interactive artforms.
As part of the Melbourne Fringe Festival, these improvising comedians set the scene for a typical Agatha Christie murder mystery. Join Miss Jemima Marmalade, the local elderly sleuth as she assists Detective Inspector Owen Gullet, and helps crack the sixty-minute case. Was it Dr. Nelson Hawthorne, the drunken town GP or Henry Stuffins, the gossipy butcher?
No two performances are the same as this improvised production, with the aid of the audience has a different plot each and every time. Each evening a handful of characters are chosen from a designated list and before entering the theatre, audience members are asked to secretly vote who they think will be the victim and who will be the murderer. The cast tally the votes and the play unfolds from there, with the majority of the vote being the ultimate outcome.
Unravel the mystery as the pieces of the puzzle are meticulously presented before you by the unimaginative police officer and his nosy elderly sidekick. With a load of laughs along the way, the perfect recipe for murder is in your hands.
