I was a bit nervous that my ticket for an "intriguing night of murder, mystery and suspense" aboard Puffing Billy would require me to be one of the actors. Thankfully, Gemco Players Community Theatre has that part covered.

The Train departs from Puffing Billy's Belgrave Station. The enclosed dining carriages are heated in winter, to ensure the journey is both comfortable and enjoyable. During the forward journey the entree and drinks are served, before disembarking at the historic Nobelius Packing Shed.

The 'Nobelius Packing Shed', is a bit rustic and informal; a blazing log fire burns during the cooler months. Seating is in long, shared tables, with a bit of interaction during the dinner, to solve the mystery. It struck me as a fabulous venue for a staff party or large group milestone-birthday celebration.

Roast meats, vegetables, and salads are served, buffet style, followed by various dessert options. A range of beverages, including local wines, are available for purchase.

You will be busy finding out "who dunnit" until the driver blows the whistle signalling your return to the train. Insider tip, disembark mid-way when given the opportunity, as some drama ensues that may give you clues to the mystery.

On the return journey, tea, coffee, and dinner chocolates are served.

'' departs from Puffing Billy's Belgrave Station at 7:30pm on Thursdays and Fridays, and 7:00pm on Saturdays. Arrival back into Belgrave Station is approximately 11:30pm.
