In the heart of a picturesque National Park, a rare coastal rainforest calls home. Being filled with lush & #8206 ;greenery of ancient trees with the aromas of wood, ferns and the moist smell of the bed of the & #8206 ;rainforest lingering the air, you cannot help but feel like you are wandering through the depths of an & #8206 ;enchanted rainforest.



This magical Rainforest Walk at Mungo Brush in the Myall Lakes National Park truly takes your & #8206 ;breath away with the enthralling beauty of plum pine, mock olive, coogera and brush blackwood & #8206 ;canopying the Rainforest. & #8206 ;



& #8206 ;Sounds of singing birds fill the stillness, as the crunch sounds of fallen leaves echoes through the & #8206 ;tall ancient trees and as you take a step glimpses of wildlife can be seen through the shadows. I felt as & #8206 ;if we were lost in a forest of the unknown in complete wilderness, this added even more & #8206 ;excitement and thrill to this lovely walk. & #8206 ;



There is an abundance of birdlife including golden whistlers, figbirds, rufous fantails and satin and & #8206 ;regent bowerbirds who call this charming rainforest home. Keep an eye out for the brush & #8206 ;turkeys; you can see them scratching the undergrowth (look for their distinctive red head).& #8206 ;



Other wildlife can be spotted with some including echidnas, eastern grey kangaroos, ring-tailed & #8206 ;possums, koalas, carpet pythons and other interesting creatures as well as native wildlife, so do & #8206 ;keep an eye out!

The mixture of fauna and flora captivates you as you make your way through the beautiful and & #8206 ;dense rainforest which is an easy short 1.5km loop making it perfect for children and families and & #8206 ;of course it makes a perfect lovers walk! The walk starts from the northern end of the Mungo Brush Campground & #8206 ;& #8206 ;(the walk is signposted) and connects to other lovely walking tracks throughout the Mungo Brush & #8206 ;region. & #8206 ;



The is certainly one to visit and experience with its pure beauty and & #8206 ;enchanting experience.

The Rainforest Walk can be accessed from Hawks Nest, follow Mungo Brush Road for & #8206 ;approximately 25km on a sealed road and follow the signs to the Mungo Brush Campground. & #8206 ;



If you are coming from Bulahdelah from the Princes Highway, take Bombah Point Rd (unsealed) to & #8206 ;the ferry crossing where you cross the water with the car ferry and continue along to Mungo Brush & #8206 ;Road to the Mungo Brush Campsite which is on the right hand side after Dees Corner Campground. & #8206 ;For all information see website. & #8206 ;

There is a $8 per vehicle fee to enter the Myall Lakes National Park. & #8206 ;
