is the perfect city escape on a summer's day!

Before you even enter the weir the drive up through the Kalamunda Hills is lovely enough, a pleasant surprise and much-needed break from the urbanised interior of Perth. Though, the roads are extremely twisty and so caution and experience are necessary for those seeking to travel these roads to the weir!

The weir is easily accessible and there is plenty of parking space. The weir really has a bit of something for everyone. For those interested in history, there are little plaques throughout the park which discuss the creation of the weir and the pipeline that it is connected too. For those who love nature, the weir is surrounded by walk tracks such as the Bibbulmun track and there is also lovely gardens and seating areas to enjoy or picnic or to simply take in the environment. For engineering enthusiasts, the weir itself will be of great interest!

After a walk around the weir and the surrounding gardens, the Mundaring Hotel is a short five-minute walk away and one can grab refreshments there before hitting the road again!

The weir is open until 6pm every day of the week. The hotel is open seven days a week and I will link the website so you can find out its specific opening hours.

The Mundaring weir is the perfect afternoon trip for everyone and a must-do if visiting Perth.
