The Mummy Tree Markets launched their first Robina market today, in the heart of the Gold Coast. Stallholders are mostly "work at home mums who have created a business around their children and their talents". I have to say I was blown away by the talent evident in the range of hand made goods for sale. What clever mums there are out there. Their promotional signage on stands, business cards and leaflets were professional and stalls were set up very effectively, each radiating their own personality. I took a number of photos as I was so taken with the crafted items on offer. The photos speak for themselves. Stallholder names are under each image.
This market is a great place to shop for families with young ones or first time parents, with everything from hand painted plates to leather shoes, hair accessories, jewellery and photo studio opportunities to capture precious memories. Billed as "Family Boutique", they are not only hand made, neither are they second hand, lifestyle or just a baby or children's market. They have a unique niche of their own aimed at families. Some of my favourite stall products are featured in this review.
There were also food stalls, including fabulous looking cupcakes and a home brewed ginger beer stand, brewed by the dad and sold by the daughter.
The venue for the market is Robina State School in the performing arts centre and adjoining outdoor areas. A minor criticism is lack of signage when you arrive for the event. It was also pretty windy for the outside stalls.
I would definitely recommend you put the next date of Dec 1st 2012 in your diary. It would be a great Christmas shopping opportunity if you enjoy unique, quality items that are not readily available in the shops.
There are also Mummy Tree Markets in: Brisbane 3 locations @ Brisbane East Morningside, Brisbane North Everton Park & Brisbane West Indooroopilly Gold Coast 2 locations @ Robina & Sanctuary Cove outdoor twilight markets and Toowoomba - outdoor markets at USQ
