Five artists will each transform a space into their own version of the Universe. Come along and experience their worlds at the Bundoora Homestead Art Centre, 7 Prospect Hill Drive, Bundoora - a contemporary art gallery, heritage house and gardens, and cafe. This art exhibition will run from Wednesdays to Saturdays from 11am to 4pm - 16 Jan to 27 Mar 2021, and it's FREE!
The Multiverse Digital Space is the exhibition transformed into a digital experience during COVID-19 lockdowns and has been running since Fri 20 Nov 2020, and will continue till Sun 10 Jan 2021 from 10am to 5pm. It's interactive, has games and will continue to evolve over the life of the exhibition just like its IRL exhibition; adapting and responding to the particular forces of space and time we find ourselves in.
Curated by Charlotte Christie, it features the following artists - Xanthe Dobbie, IMMI, Bhenji Ra as part of Club Ate with Justin Shoulder, Diego Ramirez, and Kaylene Whiskey. Image below is by one of the artists, Kaylene Whiskey, Strong Kungkas (detail), 2019, acrylic on linen, 91 x 122cm. SEE HERE for more information about the event and artists involved. For other Events at Bundoora, SEE HERE.
Being at the exhibition just might inspire you to put the creative, imaginative right side of your brain to work, as to what kind of universe, YOU might create. It's a bit like the Rocky Horror Show. Take a step to the right, or take a step to the left, and everything could change!
All possibilities exist in the Multiverse. Reimagine the world we know into different possibilities; some dark, some utopian, some absurd, some just a small step sideways. Reconstructing reality can often reveal the arbitrary parameters that define our world, but perhaps shouldn't - and somewhere in the multiverse, might not. If our universe is truly an accident, how much of it can we control, shape and shift to change the dominant narrative, to reposition the values that define it? Good question. Come to the exhibition and have fun with your imagination.
