Presented by the Valluvar Foundation and the Tamil Academy, get all the deets on the event page. The Harvest Festival is an important aspect of Tamil culture and tradition which celebrates nature, our land, the animals, water, people, the cycle of life.
Bring the whole family and don't forget that picnic rug to sit on and enjoy stage performances by community artists who will demonstrate their harvest traditions. There's something for everyone.
9.30am - Kolam (rangoli) competition - register via email (limited spots - see email address in poster above) & bring your own kolam powder
10.30am to 12.30pm - Stage performances
There's also a Live Pongal Pot event where traditional sweet rice is cooked in a clay pot. Enjoy market stalls, and delicious food stalls all day, plus raffle prizes and lots of games like Uri Adi (piñata), Lemon & spoon race, Running races, Sack race, Tug of War (kids, women, men), Kabadi (team of minimum six – email them with your team details), Giant Chess, Carnival games, Animal farm, Rides & more!
