Organised by the
Arts and Cultural Federation of Sunshine Coast , a fabulous weekend is planned for the whole family to enjoy at the Multicultural Moon Festival to be held at Mooloolaba Beach and Arthur Parkyn Park. This year's Multicultural Moon Festival will be filled to the brim with fun activities, movie night, performances, food trucks, market stalls, a mega raffle and a grand firework finale to light up the night skies.
Kicking off on the Friday afternoon, 9 September, is the Children's Painting/Drawing competition. Children are invited to bring in their completed artwork to the event, or to complete a painting on the spot to compete. With the awesome theme '
Beach under a Full Moon', children are encouraged to use their imagination and creativity. The top ten entries will each receive certificates of merit, to be announced at the
Multicultural Moon Festival .
Families are invited to stay behind on Friday evening, 9 September, at around 5.30pm-ish, to kick back and relax on the beach for the FREE viewing of the animated movie, '
Over the Moon ', that will be screened in front of the Loo with a View. Pack a picnic blanket, chairs and a snack or two, the kids will love having some nibblies under the stars.
Promote your national cultural heritage features for the
Best-dressed Competition , where everyone of all ages and genders is invited to participate with their choice of creative costume. The more innovative the better, and may put you in the running to win a super prize.
