The theme of Muddy's Playground is "Life in Trinity Bay" which is reflected all through. Trinity Bay is situated just a stone's throw from the Great Barrier Reef. The water surrounding the bay is home to a colourful selection of marine life and fascinating corals. So around Muddy Playground, you can find colourful sea coral colours, sea creatures and lots of water play.
Muddy's playground is well shaded and has a plethora of equipment, packed full of fun with interactive and educational facilities. The playground is separated into two spaces with Muddy's Cafe in the middle. The northern end is dedicated to smaller children with a height chart in place to indicate this. This area is fenced, making it a safe place for toddlers to enjoy some independent play and giving parents peace of mind knowing their toddlers will be safe playing here. The south end is un-fenced and dedicated more to bigger children.
You will find plenty of water play areas for kids of all ages, along with various slides, cubby houses, hamster wheel, climbing structures, sound chimes, trick track, rope bridges, see-saw, puzzle games and storytelling area, flying fox, and giant mud-skipper play area. There is an all abilities Liberty Swing using the MLAK national keying system. For access, please ask at Muddy's Cafe.
There are BBQ facilities, picnic tables, amenities block with changing tables, free public car park and on-street parking. The playground is open every day of the year from 9.00 am and 7.00 pm (including public holidays and weekends). Sections of Muddy's are closed for maintenance on Tuesday and/or Thursday mornings until noon. On these mornings, it may mean that parts of the playground will be closed off, including the water play areas.
