Event:
Play in the mud - make mud pies, get down and dirty in mud
For a real fun adventure event, join Nature Play WA and the Shire of York, as they bring you "all things winter". This will be held in the Wheatbelt of Western Australia, and it is the first ever Mud Monsters Ball.

It will be held on Sunday 3rd June, 2018 on the main street, Avon Terrace, in the delightful small town of York. It will be on from 10.00 am to 2.00 pm. It is a FREE EVENT which will give everyone the chance to get out and dirty!

This unique event will create rather a twist on the normal mud activities. The Mud Monsters Ball allows children (as well as their big "kid" parents) the chance to run amok, dance, create and imagine. interested? Mud Monsters - band together as you all spend the day getting ready for the Mud Monsters Ball.

Some of the activities on the day will include:

Muddy Monsters - At this, you will dress to impress. You can then start your day by becoming a Muddy Monster, but remember to bring a change of clothes, as Muddy Monsters always like to get messy.

Mud Monster Accessories - Mud Monsters almost always love their accessories and here, you can create your very own muddy nature flower band. You could, however, call it a "mud corsage!"

Monster Music and Muddy Moves - This is where the Mud Monsters Ball comes alive. You will be able to dance, play, run around and have fun as a Muddy Monster!

Mud Village - When you are a Muddy Monster, you and your friends will need to create some shelter. All children will be encouraged to use their imagination to experience their very own mud city, in an imaginary mud world.

What sort of creatures will there be here? Will there be a particular dance or song that will happen in your mud world?

Cafe Le Mud - In this one, you can use the Nature Play WA mud kitchens in order to create your own muddy menu. Then you will be able to serve slop and market your muddy masterpieces for the Mud Monsters Ball.

Rest Area - This will be a special quiet area, away from the major activities. It will provide an opportunity for parents and children to rest before continuing on their muddy journey.

This is a self-guided event. Parents and caregivers are to be responsible for their children at all times during the events.

The event is suitable for the following ages and levels:

Babies and toddlers
High school age
Mums
Parents
Pre-schoolers
Primary school age
Suitable for all abilities
Suitable for all ages

Even though this is a FREE event, the organisers ask that you register. This is in order that they can have enough staff and resources on the day. You can register your names at this site.

Nature Play WA Inc is an incorporated not-for-profit association. It was established to increase the time Western Australian children spend in unstructured play outdoors, as well as in nature.

It is founded on the understanding that "unstructured play outdoors (nature play) is fundamental to a full and healthy childhood".

Nature play has a lot of benefits for children and these include health, cognitive, social and emotional development. As well as this, it can help build children's creativity.

So, register for this fun event now and let your children play in the mud!
