Melbourne Cup Day is on the horizon, but not all of us are into this racing event, magical and spectacular though it may be. Some of us prefer to watch it from home, bet through an app, or head to the markets. The Mt Martha South Beach Market to be exact; on Tuesday 7 November 2023 from 10am to 2pm at 466 Esplanade, Mount Martha. Your pet pooches are welcome as long as they're on a short lead. Keep in mind Christmas is on the way, so get organised early and skip the stress of the festive season.


The Peninsula's most stunning seaside market is filled with creatives like designers, artists, photographers, jewellers, growers and makers, this handmade makers market with 55 stalls and more is the one to be at. Enjoy the backdrop that overlooks Port Philip Bay at a market that runs on major public holidays over the year. Go hungry and thirsty and support local vendors with a selection of gourmet street food trucks, bars and a whole lot more. The lineup of food trucks will be up next to Mt Martha House, with the 'makers' occupying the lawn area.


Entry is free and there's free parking onsite at Mt Martha House, plus local street parking. Mt Martha Village just a few minutes walk away also has parking available. Be prepared for the traffic with everyone looking for places to go on a public holiday. Patience is a virtue. Stay connected via Facebook where you'll be privy to some of the vendors.
