One of my favourite walking tracks is perched on the cliff tops at Mt Martha and follows the bay, with magnificent views all the way around to Mornington.

There are many opportunities along the way to sit and admire the views across the bay and the see the ships passing.

I usually start in Mt Martha from the shops and follow the footpath on the Esplanade until reaching Helena St where the track begins on the opposite side of the road. This track will then take you all the way to the roundabout at Wilsons Rd and Barkley St. Mornington. To Main St Mornington it is another 700 metres.

[ADVERT]The walk one way is approximately 5.5 km but this can be shortened depending where you start from. The track has access points every 100 metres or so to the Esplanade.

This is a great all year round walking/running track. In the summer it's well shaded and in the winter it's protected from strong winds.

There are several stair cases that track down to the beaches, if unlike me you don't have a pram or wheel chair. You can follow the coast on the beach and rejoin the track further on.

Many locals use this track on a daily basis, and on the weekends it's slightly busier, but most only do small sections of the track.

Dogs are permitted on leash.

Another enjoyable walk in the area is Balcombe Estuary Reserve
Enjoy your walk.
