Memorial Cross Dawn Service
Considered the second most significant war memorial in Victoria after Melbourne's Shrine of Remembrance Mount Macedon's Memorial Cross hosts a spectacular and very emotional Dawn Service each ANZAC Day commemorating this most sacred of all Australian events.

The 2018 Mount Macedon Dawn Service will begin at 6 AM on Wednesday 25th April, this year focusing on the Battle of Villers Bretonneux, fought on April 25th 1918, the battles at CORAL and BALMORAL Fire Support Bases during the Vietnam War's 1968 TET Offensive and Australia's Peacekeeping deployment to Somalia in January 1993.
Due to the very restricted access to the Memorial Cross Reserve and limited parking, Mount Macedon Road will be closed between Honour Avenue and Straws Lane from 3 AM.
Private vehicles will be directed to Tony Clarke Reserve and all attendees will be required to access the Memorial Cross by bus.
As well as commemorating the 1918 battle at Villers Bretonneux and Australia's post-war peacekeeping efforts, Mount Macedon's 2018 Dawn Service will also focus on our diggers at CORAL and BALMORAL Fire Support Bases during the Vietnam War's TET Offensive of 1968. Photo: Wikimedia Commons
