Having visited first in Spring and then a couple of years later in Autumn, we were not disappointed either time. The gardens differ from many in that it is quite hilly situated on the eastern slopes of Mount Lofty.
In spring there are stunning displays of magnolias, rhododendrons, camellias and roses. In autumn the variety of colours of the leaves on the trees is spectacular even on an overcast day we were not disappointed.
Free guided walks 10.30am every Thursday. Check the website for details.
Mount Lofty Botanic Garden is less than thirty minutes from Adelaide's city centre in the picturesque Adelaide Hills. One hundred hectares of native bushland has been transformed into a cool temperate garden – with spectacular displays with plants from all around the world.
