The hills are alive with colour
A delightful place to visit any time of the year.

Having visited first in Spring and then a couple of years later in Autumn, we were not disappointed either time. The gardens differ from many in that it is quite hilly situated on the eastern slopes of Mount Lofty.

In spring there are stunning displays of magnolias, rhododendrons, camellias and roses. In autumn the variety of colours of the leaves on the trees is spectacular even on an overcast day we were not disappointed.

There are walking trails up and down the garden's seven valleys. It does not matter what time of year one visits - there is always diversity of plants to enjoy.

Pack a picnic lunch to share with family and friends by the pretty lakeside and relax watching the swans on the water or just soak up the serenity of the scenery.

Free guided walks 10.30am every Thursday. Check the website for details.

Mount Lofty Botanic Garden is less than thirty minutes from Adelaide's city centre in the picturesque Adelaide Hills. One hundred hectares of native bushland has been transformed into a cool temperate garden with spectacular displays with plants from all around the world.
