I'm a mother of four with two coeliac children. I'm always on the lookout for great gluten-free spots around Brisbane and feature gluten-free cooking in my blog: coeliacfamily.blogspot.com.au
I'm also a muso and enjoy live music around town.

Eat your way around the world this Saturday evening
With live music and food from around the world, Southside's new food truck emporium opened with crowds lining up to enter foodie heaven. The gates opened at 4pm, and by 5pm it was standing room only as people hunted for their favourite fare. Food was presented logically, with mains, desserts and drinks grouped together with similar fare. The trucks lined a seating central eating area (which was totally full by the time we arrived at 5pm) and this faced a stage which pumped with the sounds of a live band.
Mains ranged from wings to pizza, curries to French offerings and burgers to satay skewers. Definitely something for everyone, with prices ranging from $8.00 to $14.00. Some vans had kids offerings and there were also gluten free and vegetarian options at lots of the stalls.
French offerings steamed in their pots and were a tasty treat
Desserts were to die for - crepes, gelati, cakes, French tarts, doughnuts and churros. For those wanting a healthy option there was a berry stall and for something out of the ordinary - Hungarian Tower Cakes.
The French Food Truck also offered a tempting array of desserts
Coffee and soft drinks were available, and there was also a licensed bar serving beer, wine and cocktails. Despite being busy, we didn't have to wait too long for food, probably as there were so many stalls to choose from. For those who arrived after us, the line to get in stretched into the distance, and parking spaces in the Showgrounds filled, leaving those who arrived later to find street parks and walk to the market. My advice - arrive early and bring a blanket to sit on.
Mt Gravatt Marketta is being held every Saturday evening from 4pm - 10pm, rain, hail or shine at the Mt Gravatt Showgrounds on Logan Road. Entry fee is $2 for adults, with under 16 years free. To find out more or make an application to have your food truck included, visit the Mt. Gravatt markets website, www.mtgravattmarkets.com
Live music all evening to keep you entertained while you eat your way around the world
