The
Great Outdoor and 4x4 Expo is back at Mount Gambier Showgrounds for more inspiration for all things outdoors than ever before. The expo is being held over 3 days from Friday 20th April 2018 to Sunday 22nd April 2018.
Whether you're an experienced camper or caravanner looking for new ideas or to upgrade, or a newbie wanting some expert information, this expo has something for everyone. These events are a great way to grab one-off show bargains and many of the exhibitors will be displaying the latest, innovative products.
The usual big brand names will be there including Jayco, Dave Benson Caravans, RV Sales Motorhomes, Nova Caravans, New Age Caravans and Swiftco to name a few, but also local brands with their products to help you plan your next adventure.
It's not all about big shiny new luxurious homes though, exhibits will include Fishing, Boating, Pools & Spas, 4WD & Off Roading, Gardening, Travel & Adventure, lots of accessories and local Food & Wine to tuck into after all that hard decision making.
This is a great family day out with activities and demonstrations throughout the weekend from fishing and casting, to outdoor cooking and product demonstrations. Don't miss the opportunity to win some fantastic door prizes too – check out their
Facebook page for updates.
Why not make a weekend of it and stay locally in one of the many caravan and camping parks in the area. The Showgrounds have their own
small camping area (best to book ahead as this is likely to be popular), as well as the popular
Big 4 Blue Lake Holiday Park,
Pine Country Caravan Park,
Mount Gambier Central Caravan Park,
Limestone Coast Tourist Park or head to the ocean where the gorgeous
Port MacDonnell Foreshore Tourist Park is situated just 25km from Mount Gambier.
When its time to take a break from all the adventure planning, take some time to visit some of the amazing, and unusual places in
Mount Gambier, including the
Umpherston Sinkhole, the famous
Blue Lake, and the
Cave Gardens in the city centre.
However you plan your weekend, if you're travelling from Adelaide, don't forget about the
Limestone Loop which takes you through the scenic green farmland and vineyards on your way there and along the beautiful coastal route on your return home.
Expo opening times are:
11am to 5pm on Friday 20th April
10am to 5pm on Saturday 21st April
10am to 4pm on Sunday 22nd April
Tickets are available at the gate and cost $15 for adults, $12 for concessions and children under 16 are free. Unfortunately, no dogs are allowed to the event, except guide dogs who are accepted.
