If you'd like to see a free amazing light show, head up to Mount Dandenong at night. Peering down at the city lights is a magical feeling. Make your way up to SkyHigh, Mount Dandenong and turn into Eyre Road, keep going until you come up to the Channel 10 tower (watch out for Rabbits). You can park there and start walking down the track.
Remember to take a flash light with you, a thick jacket to keep you warm, and maybe a few friends to keep company in the dark, if you're not the one to trek alone at night.
The walk is about 5 minutes until you come to a clearing and you can see the amazing spectacle of lights down below. For the photographers, I would advise bringing a tripod for some long-exposure photography. There is also a meshed seating area at the clearing, remember to watch your step.
