Albert Park Lake in Albert Park is the place to be on Sunday 3 June 2018 for the 2018 Melbourne MS Walk and Fun Run. With distances of 5km and 10km, the run starts at 9am and the walk at 10.30am. Register HERE or donate, if you can't make it. Tickets range from $40 to $114. If you're interested in volunteering for this event, fill out this online volunteer application form.
Be prepared for limited parking at the Lakeside Car Park on Aughtie Drive, Albert Park Lake (near Lakeside Stadium) and on-street parking on Albert Rd, South Melbourne. Public transport would be the easier and more sustainable option. The course of the event is fully accessible to all abilities. Wheelchair accessible toilets are also available. Starting from Palms Lawn on the shores of Albert Park Lake, it's also where you will return after a scenic walk/run, to some food, music and entertainment for the whole family.
Free entry is offered to those who have multiple sclerosis and your official run time will be available after the event. Dogs on leads are welcome to join you on the walk but not on the run. There'll be coffee and food options at the start/finish site with water available at the start/finish event village and at each rest stop.
Head to the fundraising tools page to help you with your fundraising efforts. There are posters you can print out to post at your workplace, gym, local business etc. You are encouraged to fundraise to help those living with multiple sclerosis, as the ticket price only covers the cost of running the event. As a volunteer, you'll be giving your time for a good cause. You'll be treated to a day of laughter and fun times helping participants have an amazing experience.
