Turned up here on a rainy Sunday evening a few weeks ago, having heard rave reviews from friends, particularly about the 'Stoners Delight' dessert - which certainly didn't disappoint.
Me and my two pals took a seat in the middle of the floor (underneath the interesting ceiling display of glass jars filled with various things) and were given menu's and offered drinks straight away. The decor was cool and the vibe was friendly and laidback even though it was lively enough for a Sunday night.
We ordered some of the pork belly banh mi mini burgers and inhaled them so fast that we went in for round 2 straight away, along with the chicken katsu version too and some oysters to share for good measure.
Then it was time for the main attractions: me being a duck fanatic, I ordered the egg noodles with brasied duck and poached egg but to be honest I didn't find the flavours to my taste. It was kind of bland and the duck wasn't very flavoursome. Luckily my friend had ordered some of the lamb ribs which were unreal - sweet, sticky, tender and salty in all the right amounts. Could have gone for a round 2 but at $23 a dish we decided to save our money and belly-space for the dessert.
Ahhh, stoners delight! Doughnut icecream with it's cinnamon flavours, chunks of tacky sweet rice crispie bubbles, peanut cracknel and pretzel pieces and squares of this marshmallowy sort of cheesecake foam... It was nothing short of spectacular and I will certainly be back for second helpings next time I'm in Potts Point.
