Ms Espresso has just moved in to the Daw Park Foodland complex on Goodwood Rd. It's a small café offering quick snacks, breakfast and lunch. The coffee used is Di Bella and my latte was okay while being nothing to write home about. Although I have been spoiled recently with some really great and unique tasting coffees about town.

The décor and atmosphere is light and bright, with the paintings on the wall adding some nice flair and the cards of the artist were attached if you really liked what you saw and wanted to contact him/her. The lights are covered in lovely autumnal-shaded flowers and the whole vibe is casual and comfortable. There are also two black couches for lounging back. Everything looks spick and span too. While small it doesn't seem like they've tried to squeeze too many tables in, so even at capacity I'd say you'll still be able to keep your personal space and relax.

I ordered the vegetarian burger for $9.90 and it was far better than I expected. The chick-pea patties are freshly made in store and are very lightly spiced and the roll was incredibly fresh and soft. The whole thing was delicious, with a great mix of flavours with the beetroot relish, chick-peas and lime mayo combining together perfectly. Sometimes when I eat food that's good for me when I'm out I feel angelic, but I also kind of wish that I'd hung the halo up and put some devil horns on and gone for something unhealthy. It's almost like I think I'm missing out on the chance to splurge. This was not the case with this burger though. I loved it. It was filling and flavoursome so I didn't feel like I was missing out on anything. It's a win/win.

I wasn't sure what to expect before my visit as I couldn't find a menu online so here's some extra info for you: the lunch menu offers a range of burgers – vegetarian, chicken, and beef and lamb, along with sides like chips and wedges, a couple of salads, a gourmet hot dog and pre-made wraps and baguettes during the week. The breakfast menu is reasonable with one dish that I'm particularly keen to try being the avocado garden breakfast consisting of two free-range eggs cooked how you like, smashed avocado, confit cherry tomatoes and marinated fetta, sautéed mushrooms on potato pikelets with caramelised onion jam and at $10.90 it seems like value for money. It's also a gluten free menu option.

The service was lovely with the lady asking how everything was and seeming very happy that I'd enjoyed the meal. So, while the coffee wasn't all that great I will most definitely return for that burger again and to try something else from the menu. If everything else is as lovely and fresh then maybe I'll even learn Ms Espresso's first name.
