Away from the hustle and bustle of the city
Mr. Ramen San is an authentic Japanese place in Hawthorn. It is a tiny little cosy restaurant, which reminds me of ramen joints in Japan.

It is located within a few miles of Swinburne University, and is often frequented by the uni students and staff during the weekdays.

Our waitress was quite friendly and gave us some time to decide. I think this place is cash only.

Here you won't find any sushi and sashimi. Instead there is ramen and some small entrees, such as takoyaki (octopus balls) and gyoza.

The ramen bowls come with a small salad (appetiser).

They do a really great kitsune ramen. Kitsune ramen is vegetarian noodles in Japanese. Instead of meat, they use tofu and the inari pouch.

The broth had lots of msg in it, but the noodles and the tofu were good. The seaweed was also good. The meal was served piping hot.

Do come and visit this lovely ramen joint away from the hustle and bustle of the city. I promise you won't be disappointed!
