I will only write about places that I've had a great experience. There are so many local heroes around Adelaide and I want to try and share them all.

The award winning* Frewville Foodland went under renovations mid last year. The store continued to trade as we weaved amongst tradesmen and construction areas. I would hear chatter at the checkouts of what to expect at completion; there was talk of an eatery, but what came about was far beyond anyone's expectations.
As construction came to an end and the tradies moved out, the dust began to clear, revealing Mr Nicks Kitchen and Coffee Bar.

The breakfast and lunch spot has quickly become a favourite amongst locals. The eatery is not what you'd expect from a supermarket, it's got that trendy cafe vibe and a made from scratch menu.

Contrary to any sceptic belief that perhaps they are using up spoiled produce, the fact is that the menu is used to show off the fresh produce they have available in the adjoining store.

The chef prepared menu is created using the supermarkets fresh produce. The freshness and quality of the food really shone through. The food was delicious.

For as long as I can remember, Foodland Frewville have always had great fresh produce and they have been supporting local farmers since before it became vogue to do so.

My eating companion ordered the Angus steak sandwich and was beyond excited when the sandwich came out with a thick quality piece of steak, presented in a toasted baguette from the in house bakery.

I had the prawn skewers with mango salad. The prawns were cooked perfectly and the mango salad was very refreshing. There was actually a lot of mango buried amongst the salad leaves.

We spied the waitstaff bringing out the lamb skewers to another table and they looked amazing. I'm looking to try those next time around.

We both opted to 'create our own juice' rather order off the menu. The juice was lovely and fresh.

I have since been back for breakfast and had the eggs benedict and an iced coffee. I love eggs benedict and these were fab. When they arrived at the table, I first thought the hollandaise sauce looked like it had split, but it still tasted great. The ice coffee was made with a fresh coffee shot.

My eating companion had the baguette french toast. Apparently also amazing, she was so excited she chowed into it before I could take a photo, so the below photo is from their Instagram

The eatery has proved so popular that Mr Nicks is now open for dinner Thursday and Friday nights.

Just left of the alfresco seating area are the double sliding doors, which are the main entrance to the supermarket. This is also where you will find the counter to order your drinks and meals.
