Do you like live music? This Event is not to be missed.
Mr Hill's Wonderful Ego Trip at the Grace Emily, 232 Waymouth Street Adelaide, Saturday 25th June.

Matthew Hill is a local artist who plays in four bands. This event is the culmination of all four of these bands on the one bill.
The 'Ego Trip' event will showcase a range of different bands with "an eclectic mix of instruments and styles". (Matthew Hill)

The music style will be progressive from band to band, starting with the more acoustic folk style of Matt Reiner and the Aunt Sallys, through to the angular art rock style of Ambush Marketing. Found in the middle will be the indie pop sounds of Ghyti and the piano pop music of Friends of the Band.
Each band has a very unique sound and style, with all original music and will be an entertaining masterpiece of music and showmanship.

Matt Reiner and the Aunt Sallys (Headed by Matt Reiner of 'The Dunes') has a folk sound inspired by artists such as 'Grant lee Buffalo' and 'The Triffids', with Bassist Matthew Hill and percussionist Sean Kemp. Performances are characterised by live artist Steve O'Connor who creates works behind the band as they perform.

Ghyti includes Matthew Hill on Vocals and guitar, Amr Zaid (Never Bells and Ratcat) on bass, Sam Henderson on guitar and, Travis Duke (The Flying Squad) on Drums. With a simple sixties vibe in the vein of 'Elliot Smith', this Indie pop group gives a solid performance with a great feel.

Friends of the Band (headed by Matthew Hill), with guitarist Steve Lennox (Steve Lennox Band), is a fluid piano pop band with a 'Ben Folds' influence. The idea of the band is that anyone can play and therefore the line-up is made up of different 'muso's' from other bands. This concept gives the band a fresh sound every time and is a fun filled set to experience. If you feel like joining in the fun of the set, you will be more than welcome to grab a shaker or Tamborine to play along.

Ambush Marketing is a three piece angular art rock band with a large variety of influences including, Blur, Custard, Sonic Youth and Wilco. With Matthew Hill as front man, bass player and rhythm guitar, Ben Campbell (Northern Star Sailing Club) on guitar, glockenspiel and multiple effects and Greg Hill on Drums. This band will 'Rock' loud with a massive amount of energy. Often known for their quirky lyrics and their unique instrumentation Ambush Marketing will give you an electrifying, high energy performance.

You can hear some of what is to come on Radio Adelaide 101.5FM at 9:00pm on Tuesday the 21st of June when Ambush Marketing will be taking hostage of the radio station for an hour of music and banter.
