Mr. Fox Bar

While Crown Street is practically littered, on the Oxford Street side, with various drinking options and small bars, it has been considerably more difficult to find the same sorts of option further towards Cleveland Street. Mr. Fox not only provides an option in area, but does it extremely well. It is low-lit and cosy, with blackboard-esque walls that are covered with the scribbles, doodles and various artworks of bar frequenters, a combination that creates a very interesting and comfortable atmosphere to the place.

Drinks are relatively cheap, as is the food. None of the cocktail prices exceed $26, while the mains are around $24. They've got a pretty good selection of bottled beers and ciders and wine comes at $8-$14 a glass.

The feel and the décor, however, is what makes it a great place to spend a night. The bar has a very intimate feel, once you are inside.

Mr. Fox can be filled up pretty quickly on some nights, but waiting for service at the bar is a rarity and it has never been so consistently packed that I've been unable to find somewhere to sit after a considerable amount of time.

The bar doesn't provide anything gimmicky or mind-blowing, in terms of how it goes about its business, but it does its job well and with a minimum of fuss. It's a nice bar with interesting décor, decent prices and some unique elements in an area that was severely lacking such a thing in the past.
