There's a great Chinese restaurant on Kent St in the Rocks, called Mr Chow's Peking Restaurant. A serene setting above the busy streets, white linen and decorated with seemingly traditional antiquities. However, sometimes you don't have time for a full restaurant lunch, but if you want a restaurant meal at takeaway prices, there is no better place in Sydney to get your fix.
For only $10.00, choose chicken, beef, lamb, pork or vegetables with your choice of a range of sauces. A filling meal, not bulked with onion as take away in the city so often is. The food is piping hot as cooked to order.
I thoroughly recommend the Szechuan Chicken, so much so I've never been able to bring myself to venture out and try something else.
They also offer dumplings in the take away specials, and the sensational shallot pancakes, though these are not for those on a diet. They don't look like much but they are seriously delicious, and for me, mildly addictive.
