Newly opened, MPD Kitchen is bringing everything you loved sinking your teeth into from their flagship location in Berwick to Caulfield East.

Recently taking up what was once the bistro inside the Zagames complex, this fine-dining steakhouse offers a menu that although it is steak-centric, offers up alternative options for mains, sides and desserts.

You'll also find a solid wine and cocktail menu showcasing a range of local wineries. Especially ideal if you fancy a red with your steak.

The menu reflects their philosophy of using the best quality, locally sourced and sustainably-produced ingredients. For the full menu, click here.

We started off with fresh oysters topped with champagne granita and finger lime (above), as well as the king prawns and Maltese toast (below).

For mains, steak is certainly their speciality and here it doesn't disappoint. The menu has a variety of cuts to choose from as well as a variety of sauces including their signature house-made MPD sauce.

The secret is in the cooking style with a Josper Grill in the kitchen. This particular style of Spanish-inspired cooking is nothing short of legendary in the gastronomy world of charcoal grilling.

If you're dining with a vegetarian or a non-steak eater, have no fear, there are still menu options to suit. The house-made gnocchi with salsa verde, peas, mushrooms and olives (below) is also a winner.

At MPD, diners will also find a range of sides that aren't your typical 'side of chips' fare. Steaks arrive with a serve of chunky chips (as pictured above) but additional sides include many favourites from the original Berwick location such as broccolini with almond pesto, roasted Japanese pumpkin with spiced yoghurt, grilled zucchini, tzatziki, mint and pickled cucumber (all pictured below).

Inside the venue, you'll find a relaxed and moody atmosphere that's perfect for a date night, celebration or group dining experience. You'll find both oversized booths for groups and cosy tables of two perfect for a quiet drink.

If you're a local, get yourself there to try it out ASAP, and if you aren't local it's certainly worth the drive.

To celebrate the opening, MPD will be offering a range of specials for lunchtime diners as well as speciality Wagu-themed dining events. Following the What's On link or keep up with them on socials to stay in the loop.
