Support for healing from the deep pain of loss
Grief hurts. It hurts like hell.
Have you, or has someone you know, lost a loved one? The pain of grief seems insurmountable, relentless and never-ending. Deep grief is a lonely place to be, and the journey out seems impossible.
Brisbane author Edwina Shaw knows that truth. When her baby son, Teddy, died a few days after birth, Edwina's grief not only overwhelmed her but also tore open the wounds of past losses: her father, her brother and her grandmother.
Edwina's lived experience of deep grief and the journey to healing now forms the foundation of a 3-hour workshop that will guide and support you in your loss.
Her Moving Through Grief workshop will be held at the Relaxation Centre in Alderley on Saturday 12 June and again on 31 July, at a cost of only $30!
Edwina's workshop is based on her book 'A Guide Through Grief' (Cover photo courtesy Red Backed Wren Publishing)
The workshop is based on Edwina's new book, A Guide through Grief: First Aid for your Heart and Soul, written in loving hope of helping others recover from the devastating pain of loss through her own experiences. With compassion and kindness, Edwina stands with the reader in their pain and gently accompanies them back to healing.
She lays out the steps on her own personal journey and offers the reader the practical tools and creative activities that gradually helped her face her grief, accept it and emerge from it. Step by step, day by day, Edwina gradually found ways to revisit each loss and allow herself to mourn, but also place the losses into the story of her life and continue living.
Now Edwina's half-day Moving Through Grief workshops will help you cope with the loss of someone significant in your life. In a safe and nurturing environment, you'll find healing through a range of ideas, insights, guided relaxation and breathing techniques designed to nourish and support you through your personal journey of grief.
There is a way forward. You will feel better. You will learn to smile again. One day at a time. One step at a time. Breath by breath.
