Gates open at 6.30 pm when you'll be able to enjoy some pre-movie entertainment with a DJ spinning cool tunes to chill out to.
The movies get underway as the sun sets and the following will be lighting up the big screen:
* Thursday 7 February - Baz Luhrmann's Oscar-winning film The Great Gatsby.
* Friday 8 February - Marvel Studios' blockbuster movie Black Panther.
* Saturday 9 February - the family-friendly Peter Rabbit.
No tickets required, however, you can register for the event here so that the organisers can monitor numbers. All that is then left to do is turn up and pick a spot on the lawn to spread out your picnic rug, sit back and enjoy. Be one of the first 100 moviegoers and you can grab yourself a free bean bag to relax in.
There will be food and snacks available on-site or why not enjoy a meal and a glass of wine, before the movie, at any one of the many great restaurants nearby? Alternatively, pack a picnic filled with your favourite goodies and enjoy a feast by the Yarra as the sun goes down.
Make it a night out for the whole family, including your pooch, as this is a dog-friendly event.
Getting to the event is easy. Jump on the City Circle tram, or tram 70 or 75 via Flinders St to Harbour Esplanade (stop D6) or tram 11 or 48 via Collins St to Docklands Park (stop D4). From there, it's a short stroll to Point Park. Check out the Public Transport Victoria website for more details. Alternatively, take the free return ferry service from Federation Square, departing at 6.00pm. Running on Thursday and Friday evenings only.
