It's Friday afternoon, and the end of another hectic working week. You feel like a nice treat for yourself, like doing something relaxing and out of the ordinary. So, why not jump in the car and head to the Barossa. You'll be there in around an hour from the city and you'll be able to enjoy a film and a glass of wine at the Jacob's Creek Visitor Centre. This year's 'Movies under the stars at Our Place' events boast the picturesque setting of most people's dreams. It doesn't have to be a dream anymore though.
Every year in the summertime these screenings prove popular, and the film selection is always good. This year is no exception with an eclectic mix of films screening for your pleasure.
Things kick off this year on the 4th of January, and films will screen every Friday until the 22nd February. Admission is $15 which also includes a glass of wine. There are also non-alcoholic beverages, popcorn, platters and dessert options available too.
Doors open each Friday at 7pm. Movies, however, will not screen until after sunset (approximately 8.15pm – 8.45pm) which makes sense really. You want to be able to see the screen, after all.
Why not get there earlier and enjoy a nice walk through the gardens, and the opportunity to breathe some fresh air? Bookings are recommended and can be made via phone on (08) 8521 3000. If you'd rather email then drop firstname.lastname@example.org a line, and feel free to check out the facebook page for more information.
There's nothing better than enjoying a nice cool glass of wine on a warm, sultry night. Well, nothing apart from being on the lawn at the Jacob's Creek Visitor Centre and enjoying a film too. What a way to kick off the weekend.
