Looking for something to watch with the kids these holidays (not at the cinemas) stumped on what to watch and tired of all of the movies you've seen with them so far? Well, read my list on the top 5 movies I have watched with siblings, cousins and my babysitting kids.

1) Diary of a Wimpy Kid 3 : Dog Days
This movie is really funny, has a good story and is great for children to watch. It's about a boy named Greg Heffley, who is on his summer holiday and gets into all kinds of trouble with his friend, dog and brother. Kids (especially boys) will get a good laugh out of this one.

It costs $19 at the shops or you can hire it out from Blockbuster.
Recommended age group: Kids aged 7 and up.

2) Tangled
A beautiful Disney princess film for all little girls, watch as the beautiful princess gets her prince and defeats her evil stepmother. It is a great movie and girls will really love it. Lots of nice songs as well, I loved it. Quite sad as well but truly a great Disney film.

Recommended age group: Girls aged 5 and up.

3) Despicable Me
A funny, smart memorable film about 3 little orphan girls who go and live with an evil super villain who wants to steal the moon with the help of his cute evil minions. Kids will love this movie and laugh a lot, I certainly did and I am not a child anymore. The animation is so great, the characters are cute and Gru (the super villain), voiced by Steve Carell, and the minions are super funny. The little girl Agnes is cute, it's an all round fantastic movie.

Recommended age group: Kids aged 6 and up.

4) Brave
A great film that came out last year, about a princess who decides to find her own path in life. Quite a funny film, it's great, with a engaging storyline. Kids will love it, although there are some scary scenes, especially when the girl's mum turns into a bear. My little sister got a bit scared, it might be best for children who are a bit older. Good for both boys and girls.

Recommended age group: Kids age 7 and up.

5) Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs
A funny film about food raining from the sky. Kids will enjoy it and find it really funny. I loved it, and my cousins liked it as well. Make sure you have a big box of popcorn with you, as you'll probably get hungry watching this delicious looking movie.

Recommended age group: Kids aged 5 and up.
