June is always a great month for the movies as it is generally a very cold month. What could be nicer than cuddling up in a comfy movie seat, watching a new release, while pigging out on some warm popcorn!
This is a list of my top 15 picks for June 2018.
[b] 1. HEREDITARY[/b]
This will be released on 7th June. The spirit of a recently deceased matriarch haunts a loner teenage granddaughter in this movie starring Toni Collette.
This is classed as a "horror" movie, so will not be for all, however, it sounds interesting!
[b]2. KODACHROME[/b]
This film will be released on 7th June, 2018 at Luna Cinemas Leederville and Fremantle, as well as mainstream theatres.
It is about a recently divorced, struggling music executive on a downward spiral. His estranged father, Ben is a celebrated photographer and has been diagnosed with terminal cancer.
After finding four rolls of Kodachrome film, Ben's dying wish is to drive cross-country to process the film at Dwayne's. Dwayne's is the last place in the world that still develops Kodachrome.
They then set out on this trip from New York to Kansas.

[b]3. TEA WITH THE DAMES[/b]
This is a must watch movie especially for seniors and it will be released on 7th June at Reading Cinemas.
Every now and then four old friends, who are all actresses, meet up in the English countryside to gossip, to remember, and to laugh.
TEA WITH THE DAMES is a unique celebration of the lives and careers of four of our most iconic actresses; Dame Eileen Atkins, Dame Judi Dench, Dame Joan Plowright and Dame Maggie Smith. All four have gone from being novice actresses in the 1950's to turn into acting "royalty".

[b]4. TAG[/b]
This will be released on 14th June, 2018.
A group of ex-classmates organise a game of tag that has them travelling cross-country. This is a comedy starring Jeremy Renner, Ed Helms and Jon Hamm.
Each year, five friends do this same thing and they have been playing this game since the first grade. This year, the game coincides with the wedding of their only undefeated player, which should finally make him an easy target.
[b]5. UPGRADE[/b]
This sci fi movie will be released on 14th June.
Grey Trace is a [i]"technophobe in a utopian near-future"[/i] when computers control nearly everything. They control cars through to crime-surveillance, and Grey is paralysed in a freak mugging that leaves his wife dead.
But when a billionaire technologist offers him an experimental paralysis cure, he jumps at the chance. Grey finds that the chip implanted has a voice and a mind of its own.
This film stars Logan Marshall-Green and Betty Gabriel, and will be released at Reading Cinemas.
[b]6. DISOBEDIENCE[/b]
This one will be released at the Luna on 14th June and promises to be a very worthwhile film.
Basically, this adaptation story is about a woman who returns home to her Jewish community in London and rekindles a romance with her cousin's wife. Love and faith are the highlights of this movie.
[b]7. LEISURE SEEKER[/b]
This will also commence on 14th June.
It stars Oscar winner, Helen Mirren and two-time Golden Globe winner, Donald Sutherland.
It is about a road trip drama and an elderly couple who take a final road trip along Route 66 to Disneyland.
[b]8. FOXTROT[/b]
Foxtrot will be released on 21st June.
This is about the death of an upper-class Israeli couple's soldier son. His death sparks a series of events in this drama that won the top award at Venice.
[b]9. JURASSIC WORLD - FALLEN KINGDOM[/b]
Although this film does not appeal to me, I am sure it will appeal to many, so have included it! It will be released on 21st June.
Jeff Goldblum is back, along with Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard for the sequel to 2015's
Jurassic World.
[b]10. ADRIFT[/b]
This movie will be released on 28th June.
It is the story of Shailene Woodley and Sam Claflin who are lovers stuck in a hurricane at sea. This is a true story about two eager sailors who leave on a trans-oceanic journey. However, they do not know that they will be sailing directly into one of the most catastrophic hurricanes in history. This is a gripping adventure story about this couple's fight to stay alive.
[b]11. PANDAS 3-D[/b]
This one will be released on 28th June.
Kristen Bell narrates this documentary focusing on a Chengdu "Panda Base". Here, scientists are breeding giant pandas in order to protect this particular species. This looks to be a beautiful movie, particularly for animal lovers.
[b]12. BROTHERS NEST[/b]
This one will be released on 21st June and is directed by Clayton Jacobson. He is the brother of Shane Jacobson, and in a very different film to the hit
Kenny, this film is very Australian and individual.
On a cold winter's morning in the middle of country Victoria, two brothers arrive at their family home with evil intentions. Their motives are to make sure their dying Mother will change her will, which is currently in favour of her husband - their stepfather.
It stars Shane Jacobson, Clayton Jacobson, Kim Gyngell, and Sarah Snook.
[b]13. TWO IS A FAMILY[/b]
This will also be released on 28th June.
Omar Sy is living it up on the French Riviera when a former lover turns up and drops off the [i]"fruits of their tryst"[/i]. This story is based on the Mexican comedy-drama,
Instructions Not Included.
The movie stars Omar Sy, Clémence Poésy, Antoine Bertrand, Ashley Walters, and Gloria Colston.
[b]14. IDEAL HOME[/b]
This movie will be released on 21st June and will play at Luna cinemas.
Celebrity chef, Erasmus and his partner Paul have a happy life together. Their perfect existence goes awry when Erasmus is astonished by the arrival of a grandson he never knew he had.
This movie will be both funny and poignant.
[b]15. SANJU[/b]
This will be released on 29th June at Hoyts Cinemas and is a Bollywood biography.
Sanju is a dramatic saga of Sanjay Dutt's life. It is both funny and heartbreaking and is about one man's battle against his own wild self and the formidable external forces trying to crush him.
