It looks like the October holidays are going to be a small challenge with the weather meter set on rain. With kids cooped up in the house for two weeks, it will test even the most calmest of parents.

So, to give yourself, and the kids a break, why not treat the kids to an afternoon at the movies. Here is a guide to four movies that will entertain the kids these October Holidays.

Smurfs 2:

Smurfs made their debut in the 1980s, only to resurface again in the 21st century. These cute little critters will entertain the kids these holidays by painting the town blue! I have to say, that there are a few areas that will probably not suit the very young viewer, but all in all, it is a good movie with action and humour.

Turbo the Movie

This is definitely the cutest movie I have seen in ages. It is about a snail who has high aspirations of racing in the Indy 500. One day, he is accidentally sucked into a nitro-oxide engine, and that is when the movie becomes interesting.

This is a movie that will be enjoyed by all age groups, including the parents!

Planes the movie

The makers of the Cars created this movie. It was a little disappointing as it followed the same sort of story line as the Cars movie. Personally I felt the Cars had a little more personality, however this is a all round good movie that will be enjoyed by all age groups.

Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters

This movie is for the older age group. There is a lot of action with some very dramatic scenes that may scare the younger viewer. I really enjoyed this movie and it seemed that the rest of the audience enjoyed it too.
