Movie Night to raise much needed funds for the Special Care Nursery, University Hospital GeelongCome and enjoy a night out at the movies, watch a screening of My Old Lady, and help raise funds for a very worthy cause. Spend a little while at the movies, snacks are included as part of the ticket price, and your money is going towards the redevelopment of the Special Care Nursery at the University Hospital Geleong (formerly Geelong Hospital).

For any parent who has had a baby stay at the Special Care Nursery, the feeling of helplessness, of being overwhelmed, as your new born has to go into special care is soon replaced with gratefulness as the staff at the Special Care Nursery give so much towards the babies and families.

For many parents and children in the region, Geelong's special care nursery has a special place in our hearts. In those first days of life, fragile babies find themselves under the nurture and care of this dedicated facility and its staff. Without this support here in Geelong, these difficult times could be so much harder.

When my granddaughter was moved to special care after her birth she was so tiny. Not as tiny as some of the babies, but small enough to require a stay in special care. The staff are wonderful. They are so dedicated to their small charges, and they make families feel welcome in a very overwhelming situation.

Local Mothers, who have had their babies spend time in the Special Care Nursery are holding a fund raising night in appreciation of the care that their babies received. Both Mums know first had how much the current redevelopment of the Special Care Nursery is needed.

If you would like to attend the Movie Night or support the fundraiser, tickets can be purchased online, and there is a raffle on the night. All profits from ticket sales and the proceeds from the raffle will go towards the redevelopment of and equipment for Geelong's Special Care Nursery at University Hospital Geelong (formerly known as Geelong Hospital).

The price of the tickets is $25.00 which includes entry to the movie, a small soft drink and a small popcorn. You will also receive a door prize ticket. Remember to bring a few gold coins to enter the raffle.

A short teaser about the movie "My Old Lady"

About "My Old Lady". Starring Kevin Kline, Kristin Scott Thomas and Maggie Smith, this movie is about an American who inherits an apartment in Paris, that comes with an unexpected resident. Mathis inherits a Parisian apartment from his estranged father. When he arrives in France to sell it, he discovers a tenant who is not prepared to budge.

The apartment is a viager - an ancient French real estate system with complex rules about its resale. Mathilde, who has lived there with her daughter for years, can by contract collect payments from Mathias until her death.

I hope you come to the movies on Wednesday 19th November to view this movie, and to help raise funds for the Special Care Nursery. You can purchase tickets through the Try Booking website.
