World Famous Ice Cream
First opened in Zurich in Switzerland in 1948, Movenpick has since expanded its business to a chain of stores located worldwide. They already a few branches opened up throughout Australia and with a branch recently opened in Adelaide, we decided to visit it to see what it is like.

They offer a good range of flavours, all of them notable in that they do not use artificial flavours or additives. If you are unsure about a certain flavour, you have the chance to taste it before you order it. The ice cream can be ordered by itself or served in a waffle cone or cup.

Movenpick also offers a range of desserts accompanied by their ice cream. We tried their waffles, choosing the chocolate and macadamia. Both waffles are served with two different scoops of ice cream that best complement the waffle. You are however free to choose the flavours you want if the pre-chosen flavours do not appeal to you. The waffles were crisp and fluffy and the toppings complemented it perfectly. The ice cream helped to round out the flavour of the waffles, although we thought the portion of ice cream needed to be a bit more generous.

They also make milkshakes and thickshakes, using their own ice cream as a base. You can either choose from one of the "pre-set" flavours or pick your favourite. Out of the blackcurrant and coffee flavours we chose for our thickshakes, we thought the coffee was the better of the two as its slightly bitter flavour was nicely rounded out by the cream topping the thickshake.

Movenpick also serves flavoursome coffees and cakes and has a nice ambience, making it a lovely place to hang out with friends or have a break from shopping at Rundle Mall.

Loved the icecream & drinks, but not a fan of the waffles (when my group went we found them quite doughy).
